Unique Whaling Pistol. (AH5067)

Unique Whaling Pistol.   Under hammer percussion pistol by N.Delany.  This rare pistol is from the reknown Norm Flayderman collection of whaling memorabilia. The gun is inlaid witn Brass cutouts of a whale, a shark and fouled anchor on the right side of the pistol grip and sextant, a swordfish and whale, the whale is inscribed “ My work 1863, Jas. Fogg Master, Whaler, Martha Lee” all inlays very well crafted and inlaid. Barrel length 7” and pistol is 12” overall length. Bore is approximately .40 Caliber Norm Flyderman was a legendary collector and dealer in all sorts of weapons, art and military memorabilia. He wrote the book Schrimshaw and Schrimshanders. A great piece for a whaling collection.
