U.S. Martial Colt Single Action Army Ainsworth Revolver (C12618)
U.S. Martial Colt Single Action Army Ainsworth Revolver. Made in 1874. Metal has a dark brown patina with spots of pitting throughout. All Ainsworth markings are present. The “U.S.” on the left hand side of the frame has been obliterated during the time of use. John Kopec suggests the gun was captured by Indians which is not something you normally find in one of his letters. This gun comes with a Kopec letter that mentions minor modifications that were done in the period of use and Kopec calls this gun “an honest old Cavalry Colt”. This gun was found in Texas a number of years ago and we can write a letter stating that if the buyer wishes.
