Large All Metal Percussion Pistol with American Patriotic Motifs (AH4308)

Large All Metal Percussion Pistol with American Patriotic Motifs. .48 caliber with 8” barrel and 13 ½” overall length. Gun has a part octagon, part round barrel. The top of the barrel is inlayed in silver London with scrolls around it. Metal stock is nicely engraved. The top of the stock near where it meets the barrel has the eagle and shield patriotic motif. This gun clearly was meant for the American market. These style guns were sold in the U.S. market and some are found with the Hyde and Goodrich marking. This gun came out of a collection with metal stocked guns and until then we have never encountered one of these with the Eagle and Shield motif!
