Colt Model 1878 Double Action Revolver .45 Long Colt caliber. Manufactured in 1890. Barrel length 4 ¾”. Bore has good rifling and has light corrosion in the grooves. The barrel address and caliber markings are clear and legible. The action works perfectly. The revolver has no finish except for traces of original blue. The finish was possibly removed to prepare the metal for refinish. In any event you can blue it, plate it, or engrave it or leave it as is. The grips are very well fitted modern replacements. Note that the 4 ¾” 1878 models in .45 Long Colt are desirable as one could carry it in a holster easily as opposed to longer barrel guns that were cumbersome.
