U.S. Model 1817 Flintlock “Common" Rifle. Manufactured by Nathan Starr & Son. Total production for the 1823 contract was 4,020. Rifle has about 95% original brown finish. Lock plate shows original lock plate case coloring. Lock is dated 1824. Stock is excellent. Has areas of raised grain and nice sharp edges! Cartouche is sharp. Patch box contains original tools! This is one of the best “Common Rifles” we have had!
