U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor .45-70 Rifle with improvements of 1877. Rifle is in great condition. Wood looks to have been lightly sanded. “ESA 1878” cartouche is present. Slight traces of case coloring are noted on breech block. Bore is good, has some small area of pitting. Strong rifling. Great looking 1873 model Trapdoor rifle!
