Thomas Evans Bar Action 12 Gauge (S8752)

Thomas Evans Bar Action 12 Gauge shotgun. Thomas Evans (from Purdeys) engraved on rib with “151 New Bond Street London”. Barrels are 30” length. Chokes are improved cylinder and full choke. Length of pull is 14” over a Silvers pad. Engraving is Purdey style “rose and scroll”. Frame shoulders are chiseled in a ribbon motif. Barrel has the 3rd fastener. Barrels are proofed for 2 ½” shells with 1 1/8 oz. loads. Note: The chambers are opened to 2 ¾” but maintaining the 1 1/8 oz. loads. Not 1 1/4 oz. Gun has a 3 ton nitro proof. Bores are excellent. Gun has automatic ejectors. This is a fine bar action sidelock by a very well respected maker. Gun comes with luggage case and accessories. Note: There is a bit of history associated with this gun. We purchased this gun from Piers Selliers who was a NASA astronaut and went on 2 missions and 6 space walks. He told us at the time that the gun had been his fathers and he inherited from him. Piers Selliers died from cancer in 2016. Several pages of info on Selliers is included with the gun detailing his life and accomplishments.
