  • Pettengill Army Revolver. .44 Caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. This gun was made in the 1860’s. Nice sharp gun overall with trace amounts of blue on the barrel flats, but overall a light brownish gray patina on metal. This is a military inspected gun. No signs of a cartouche are on the grips. Butt of this gun shows a repair and no serial numbers can be seen!

Conversion by the factory on a US contract to convert 1000 .36 percussion revolvers to .38 centerfire. This is a correct anchor marked on barrel as part of that contract! This pistol has approximately 60% original blue, mostly on barrel. Rammer assembly and cylinder frame has approximately 10% blue. Barrel has the 1858 patent date and Remington address. Bore is good plus and mostly bright. Action works, indexes and locks up perfect. Grips are original and show wear but no chips or cracks. Scarce correct navy conversion contract revolver.

Extremely rare gun. While they made 2200 of these guns, not many survived. This model has the distinction of being the largest of all of the US martial handguns. Metal has light pitting throughout. Markings are all clear and readable. Lock is dated 1811. This is the first one we have ever owned. This gun came out of a great collection of US martial Arms which can be revealed to the buyer.

Very rare gun with only 1000 produced. This is a type one variant which comprised only 40% of production Metal shows light cleaning, small spots of staining and a little bit of pitting, the typical stuff you find on a US martial flintlock. Wood is very good with minor nicks in the wood and slight cleaning.  Cartouche is still visible. This gun is all original and has not been reconverted to Flintlock. These guns rarely come up for sale and are one of the rare birds in US martial collecting. This gun came out of a prominent collection that can be revealed to the buyer.

Action works fine. Many of these guns were readily converted for the Civil War. The Belgian style was the easiest to complete, but also the crudest.
