U.S. Springfield Model 1873 .45-70 (AL4805)

U.S. Springfield Model 1873 .45-70 caliber rifle with 1879 improvements. Great looking U.S. Springfield Trapdoor rifle. Serial number for the rifle states it was sent to the 20th Kansas Volunteer Infantry, aka “fighting Twentieth”. The 20th saw action in the Philippines! Metal has gray patina. Bore is bright with strong rifling with some minor areas of frosting noted. Stock is good, shows some usage with faint cartouche remaining. Serial number puts this Trapdoor being made in 1884. Springfield research service says 1884 rifle. This rifle is in original configuration.
