Ubu (shortened) Wakizashi This is an ubu wakizashi inscribed Bishu Ju Nobu Iye Saku. The hamon is a shallow notare (wave pattern) with a mokume (burled wood) grain. Length is 21⅛ (53.6cm) Nobu Iye worked around 1650 during the Shinto period. This flawless blade has great activity and come in old Shirasaya with a silver foil habaki. Refernece Hawley p. 525. This is an “in full polish” Shinto Wakizashi. Just beautiful.
