The Remington Model 51 pistol was manufactured from 1918 to 1926. It was and is well-liked for its elegant styling and slim easy to carry frame. The 380 ACP pistol with its 8 shot capacity (7 in magazine and 1 in chamber) was a powerful concealed carry pistol of its day. The 3.25" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The early gun, serial number PA5574, is like new with approx. 99+% blue. The top of the slide is marked THE REMINGTON ARMS UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO. INC. over REMINGTON ILION WKS. ILION. N.Y. U.S.A. PEDERSEN'S PATENTS PENDING. The magazine is correctly marked 380 CAL. The checkered plastic grips, with the REMINGTON UMC logo at the top, are excellent with no cracks or chips. The action functions correctly. The correct box is good with a tape repair across the top front. Some repair work could greatly improve the box. This is a great in the box example of one of the best U.S. pocket pistols of its era. You will never need to upgrade this pistol.
