  • Inscribed Factory Engraved Colt 1851 Navy with Carved Mexican Eagle Ivory Grips.
Made in 1863. This is a fantastic presentation Colt 1851 Navy inscribed to “Juan P. Robles”. Condition is excellent with 90% plus of the original blue on the barrel and cylinder. Good case colors remaining on the frame. Grips are original carved Mexican eagle grips. Presentation is on the backstrap. The gun was originally in the famous Enrique Guerra collection. According to Mr. Guerra, Juan Robles was a professor at a college in Mexico. Wonderful all original factory engraved Colt 1851 Navy with presentation case!

Made in 1863. Barrel is excellent with 95% of the original blue remaining. The frame, hammer and lever have almost all of their original case colors, thought slightly darkened. Cylinder is excellent with very fine original blue. Grips are excellent with all of the original varnish. Gun is all matching. This is a top notch Colt 1851 Navy!

Made in 1861. Very fine Colt 1851 Navy model in very fine condition. Barrel has around 50% of the original blue mixed with patina. Frame has very good case colors. Cylinder has all of the scene and nice original blue remaining. Grips have very good original varnish. The backstrap has a presentation to Melzar Dunbar, Jr. and reads “Melzar Dunbar, Jr / From his friends, May 1st 1861”.

Melzar Dunbar, Jr. was a 31-year-old clerk from Boston when he was commissioned into Co. B, 11th Massachusetts Infantry as a 1st Lieutenant. Dunbar injured his back and was discharged on September 7th, 1861. He later re-enlisted and was commissioned a Captain in the 47th Massachusetts Infantry on October 9th 1862, his commission was cancelled on November 24th of the same year. Very fine presentation Navy!

  • Martial Colt 1851 Navy U.S. Marked Revolver. Made in 1857. The very best Army-Navy we have ever seen. This gun would be hard to improve upon. Martial Colt 1851 Navies are scarce since most of the guns were sold private purchase. The guns that are martially marked typically show a good amount of wear and have a brown or gray patina. This gun has 97% of the original blue on the barrel. The cylinder shows perfect cylinder scene and has 90% of the original blue. The frame, lever and hammer have all of the bright case colors. Grips are excellent and numbered to the gun. The cartouches have been refreshed, but are original. Absolutely fantastic gun!

Very fine case colors on the frame. Grips are excellent. This gun is engraved in the English style and is very nicely done. Cylinder has excellent cylinder scene, but has turned mostly to a light brown patina. Backstraps have good silver platting. All accessories are very fine. All numbers are matching. Small English proofs marks are present on the barrel and on each chamber of the cylinders.

  • Beautiful Colt 1851 Navy .36 caliber revolver. Made in 1853. Beautiful gun with 95% of the original finish on the barrel. Cylinder has excellent scene. There is a ring near the front of the cylinder where the trigger guard screw was too long and left a mark. Case colors are a little dark but still present. Most of the silver remains on the back strap and trigger guard. Grips are excellent. Very fine Colt 1851 that is certainly worthy of a case. Civilian gun all the way. This gun is good enough to belong in almost anyone’s collection.

You find the “Donut Scroll” engraving on the late 3rd Model dragoons, early 1851 navies and 1849 pockets. Very nice condition and on a very nicely engraved gun!
