French Model 1822 Carbine Dated 1840. Lock plate marked MR E (manufacture) Rle (Royale) de St-Etienne. Action works perfectly. Gun has a Chassepot Bayonet. The nose cap is not original. The bayonet lug on the side of the barrel is not original. Overlooking the non-original aspect, this is actually a very attractive carbine and is priced reasonably.
