Tanner & Cie Belgian Made Rifle Musket (AL4147)

Tanner & Cie Belgian made Rifle Musket. Lock is Tanner marked. Left side barrel flat is marked ELG for the Liege proof house. Bore is approximately seventy five caliber. There is a light partially visible cartouche on the right hand side of the buttstock. Overall condition is very good. Note: These Belgian Tanners have been offered and sold as imports for the Confederacy. There is no connection with these guns and Confederate purchase or use. There was a Tanner who made some guns for possible purchase by the Confederacy. Tanner was in Bastrop, Texas. The Confederates refused the Tanners made in Texas due to shoddy workmanship.
