U.S. Model 1850 Foot officer sword. Presentation inscribed on scabbard “Presented to Capt. D. Bayned by the Independent Schuetz, April 28, 1876”. Apparently and award or gift, from Schuetzen Verein or shooting club. Inscription is well done but lightly inscribed. Sword is well used and has part of the sharkskin wrap missing from handle. Blade etching is all there but worn. Priced very reasonably.
