Greek Metal Flintlock .60 caliber pistol (AH3798)

Greek all metal flintlock pistol. Barrel length 8 ½” and overall length 14 ½” brass frame and barrel. Shroud are decorated in relief with floral patterns. Steel lock plate has light engraving. Bore is approximately .60 caliber. Circa 1800. Note: This “Greek” pistol is decorated in a style common to the mountainous area of Souli. The Souliotes were Orthodox Christians and were fierce warriors. They were opposed to the rule of the Ottoman Emperor Ali Pasha at that time, Souli is now in modern Thesprotia, Greece.
