Cased Pair of Officer's Pistols by Henshall (AH6377)
Beautiful cased pair of English Officer's pistols by Thomas Henshall, Birmingham. These are flintlock pistols. The bores are smoothbore and .60 caliber. Barrels are 8.5" and 14" overall. The barrels have very fine Damascus pattern. Locks are marked "Henshall" and have roller frizzens. The breech plugs, lock, cock, trigger guard and finial are all engraved. The stocks have very minor handling marks. The grip checkering is excellent. The case is excellent with royal blue velvet. Accessories are powder flask, wooden ramrod (with tip for extracting lead balls), turnscrew and lead balls. The case lid has very attractive figured wood and has a lifting handle in the lid. The case has sliding latches on the face. The corners of the lid are patinated brass and the corners of the lower case are reinforce patinated wood. The overall condition of the pistols are excellent. This is a very fine set that presents beautifully!
