French Musket, American stocked and converted to percussion (AL3412)

French Musket, American stocked and converted to percussion by William Kuhn of Lancaster, Pa. and Mt. Joy, Pa. Sellers Book of American Gunsmith lists Kuhn as working in Lancaster in 1884 and in Mt. Joy in 1887. Gun has a French style lock and French trigger guard. The stock is not French and appears to be American work. The hammer is marked W. Kuhn, Mt. Joy. The gun has the initials J.H.L. on several parts. a very interesting musket to say the least!
