This is a superb example of a high quality 1920s era 8mm sporting rifle with double set triggers crafted from a WWI Model 98 action. The overall length is approx. 45". The approx. 24.5" octagon to round with matted solid top rib barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. It is equipped with a ramped blade front sight and two leaf rear sight. The top of the barrel rib is marked RICH. FLEISCHER. LEIPZIG. C.I.  The gun has approx. 98& blue with the bolt bocy and magazine lifter being jewelled.  The action, floorplate, and triggerguard are lightly engraved. The magazine has a quick release lever on the floorplate. The nicely figured stock is excellent with no cracks or chips. It has sharp checkering on the wrist and forend. The buttplate, which appears to be horn, has a basket weave pattern. It has a couple of small chips on the left edge. European style sling swivels are present on the barrel and bottom of the butt. The receiver has a pair of quick detach scope bases. The see through mounts have a HENSOLDT-WETZLAR DIALYTAN 4X scope marked MADE IN GERMANY with a serial number of 12293. The scope exterior is excellent, the optics are clear, and there is a very small central aiming dot. The double set trigger action functions correctly. This German sporting rifle by B. Fleischer of Leipzig is a top of the line example of the craftsmanship of German gunmakers of the era and would be a great fit in any fine sporting rifle collection.
