Serial number 2443. This gun has a light gray patina with some pitting.  All markings are sharp as is the engraving. This gun belonged to General George Armstrong Custer who was a Civil war and Indian war general who is most widely known for “Custer's Last Stand”, his final battle that pitted General Custer and his roughly 210 men against several thousand Indian warriors. This gun comes with complete documentation. It was given by General Custer’s wife, Elizabeth to George a. Custer II, then to William Brice Custer. It is featured in the pages of the Columbus Sunday Dispatch on February 8th 1956  and has passed through several famous Dealers and collectors over the years including Jackson Arms in Dallas, Tx and Greg Martin. This gun was also documented by legendary collectors and researcher John Dumont. This gun comes with a packet of full documentation.
