Remington Model 1841 Mississippi Confederate Musket (AL5331)

NSN, .58 caliber 33" round barrel South Carolina marked Remington 1841 Mississippi rifle. Doesn't get better than this hard used Confederate issued rifle. Metal is a smooth brown patina with heavy surface oxidation noted at the nipple. A unique nipple covered has been added with using a Minne Ball. Wood shows some heavy "combat" wear and usage. Brass pieces are an even untouched patina. The butt-plate has the South Carolina flag over S.C. action needs a little attention as it will not hold full cock. Bayonet lug has been removed and ramrod is missing. Period repair is noted at the wrist.
