Lee-Enfield No.5 Mk1 .303 British (R39032)

SN: AA7998. Left side of receiver is engraved "No5 MKI (F)" and "47 AA 7998", indicating manufacture by ROF Fazakerley post-war in 1947. Crown over BNP (Birmingham Nitro Proof) stamps on both receiver and barrel. Barrel additionally marked "303", "2·222", "18·5" and a partially legible "TCNS FER" with a square; plus a circle-D mark on top and the 7998 serial on the side. Barrel and bolt match receiver, but not the magazine. Metal has been cleaned extensively but retains some finish. Rubber buttpad a later replacement for the buttplate. Action functions correctly including safety. Bore is frosted but still has strong rifling.
