Serial No. 18842, circa 1909-1912, .455, 6" Manton & Co. London & Calcutta marked barrel. 80% blue finish remains, left side of the frame is a small box engraved with "Walton Cup/1915-16/Capt. J.W. Thurston/ 1st C.V.R." (Calcutta Volunteer Rifles). Bore shows handsome rifling visible with light frosting noted in the grooves. Capt. Thurston would serve with the 13th Battalion Royal Fusiliers and the Royal Engineers. He would land in France on December 29th 1916 and sent back to England for "Permanently unfit for overseas service" at the ager of 35. Grips are good with some wood loss noted on the left side, action functions correctly. CONSIGNMENT.
