Webley WG Target Model .455 (PR63814)(CONSIGNMENT)

Serial No. 19448, circa 1900's, .455, 6" P. Webley & Son, London & Birmingham marked barrel. 75-80% original bluing remains with scattered freckling visible. Back strap is inscribed with "R.V. READ. ESSEX REGT." Bore is very good with strong rifling visible, brown wooden checkered grips show handling and usage wear, most noticeable on the right side. In 1914 2nd Lt Read would land in France and Belgium were he would be wounded twice. One wound would take place in Flanders Field. He would be attached to the Egyptian Expeditionary Force by General Allenby September 19, 1918. Action functions correctly with a tight lock up.
