U.S. Model 1816 Flintlock pistol by S. North .54 caliber (AH8442)
NSN, circa 1817-1820, .54 caliber, 9- 1/6" round proofed barrel. Barrel and other iron parts are in the bright with pin prick surface oxidation visible. Lock plate is of earlier type marked with "S.NORTH/EAGLE Motif with U.S. on each side/MIDLnCON". Hickory ram-rod does not have an Iron Ferrule at the end. Stock has been varnished with old repaired crack visible rear of the lock plate. Edges are rounded and smooth. Action functions correctly. A very nice example of an 1816 flintlock pistol!
