Massive Japanese Matchlock Tanegashima (AL9819)

Made circa 1800. 2 1/8” bore with a 23” barrel. The barrel has a dark brown to almost black patina decorated with a silver Dragon and Mon. There is a signature done in Gold. The stock is excellent. This is a very unusual matchlock due to its massive size. The gun weighs approximately 80 pounds!  This is certainly the best Japanese matchlock we have ever owned!
