Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine .45-70 (AL9946) Consignment

SN: 252921. Made in 1884 at Springfield Armory with a 22-inch barrel chambered for the .45-70 rifle cartridge. This trapdoor has been cut down to resemble a carbine. Rifle is in overall fair condition with rust oxidation accumulations on the receiver & the barrel, but the gun is otherwise serviceable with a bright bore that still has strong rifling. The stock has dings, dents & scratches from its military service, but it is nevertheless in good shape with no cracks. There is a faint cartouche visible on the left side of the stock above the trigger. Consignment
