Extremely Rare Colt Single Action Army 22 Caliber Ex R.Q. Sutherland Collection (AC1096) CONSIGNMENT

Sn: 1642. Made in 1888. 22 RF caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. This gun has been factory restored. Factory rework numbers are under the grips. This gun is in near mint condition as restored. Grips are original and excellent. This gun came out of the famous Robert Q. Sutherland collection of Colts. His collection was the featured collection in the definitive book The Book of Colt Firearms by R. L. Wilson. This gun is pictured in the 2^nd and 3^rd edition of The Book of Colt Firearms on page 251. This gun was sold from the Sutherland collection to legendary collector and dealer Alan Kelly. Accompanying this gun is a copy of a Factory letter addressed to R. Q. Sutherland confirming the configuration. This gun was shipped to Powell & Clement Co in Cincinnati in a shipment of two. There is also a copy of the June 1977 cover  and advertisement page in the Gun Report where Mr. Alan Kelley is advertising it for sale. Finally there is a letter from Cherry’s in North Carolina giving the lineage of this gun. The 22 Rimfire Colt Single Actions are exceedingly rare with only 107 produced.
