Very Fine Cased Set of Percussion Pistols by William & John Rigby Ireland (AH8469)

NSN. Made circa 1830. 52 caliber with 7 ½” barrels. These are very well made, high quality pistols by one of the best makers. These guns are both in very similar condition with approximately 50% of the brown striped finish the barrels. Both barrels were cleaned at some time. The trigger guards have the majority of the original blue. The stocks are very fine with minor handling wear. The lock still has faint case colors. The locks, trigger guards and tangs and small parts all have nice engraving. The case has all of good original accessories. The top of the case has two fairly large splits at both the top and bottom. The wood is stable however. The interior of the lid has the William and John Rigby label that is missing part of the right hand side. The label is hand written “Lt Henry Norman 10^th Royal Hussars/ Nebridge/ Barracks/ Ireland” and “1833” under the name. We conducted a preliminary research and unfortunately could not find any information.
