Confederate Richmond Type II rifled musket .58 caliber (AL9969) CONSIGNMENT

NSN, made in 1862, .58 caliber, 40" round rifled barrel. Barrel is a polished grey patina with scattered areas of surface oxidation visible, heavy oxidation is present at the bolster and nipple. Lock plate is of the Type II style with "C.S/RICHMOND,V.A." Rear of lock is stamped "1862". Stock has been lightly sanded at some point with the initials "J+S+E/X", wood loss is noted by the tang, this is from heavy usage during "battle". Action holds at half and full cock. Consignment
