Texas Ranger marked Winchester 1886 .40-65 (W7078)

Texas Ranger marked Winchester 1886 .40-65 caliber rifle. Interesting gun with Texas Ranger history. Antique made in .40-65 caliber. Barrel is shortened to 21⅞”. Metal was refinished long ago. Lower tang is marked “Warren Hair / Co. B.T.R.” along with stars around the marking. We are aware of one other gun which was a single action that has sold, marked exactly the same way. We were not able locate much info on Ranger Hair other than he was a B Company Texas Ranger. Very interesting gun that could be a fun research project!
