Southern Dealer Marked Cased Tranter revolver (AH4119)

Southern Dealer Marked Cased Tranter revolver. Marked on topstrap and barrel: “W. Tranters Patent, made for Hyde & Goodrich New Orleans”. Caliber .31, 3 ½” barrel. Factory engraved with very fine case with accessories. Two trigger small frame model. Very good grips with fine checkering. Gun has approximately 92-93% blue. This is a fine and rare Southern marked and cased Tranter. Note: during the Civil War, New Orleans dealers sold English revolvers and are considered by many collectors as Confederate use pistols. This same line of thought applies to Southern marked guns during the Civil War and as a result are considered highly collectable, no matter which Southern state or city they may have originated from.
