U.S. Model 1841 Mississippi Rifle by Robins & Lawrence. Lock is dated 1847. Early gun that still falls in the Mexican-American War. Barrel has a smooth brown to gray patina. Cartouches in the wood are still visible, but are faint. Action no longer has half cock, just full cock. The wood around the nipple has heavy percussion burnout and the nipple shows heavy firing. Ramrod is a replacement. Really neat gun that has seen a lot of use, but no abuse.
