S&W Victory .38 Special caliber revolver. U.S. Navy marked on the top strap, with N.Y.M.I. 602 marking on side, which means Naval Yard Mare Island. Factory letter states that the gun was sold through orders issued by the Defense Supply Corporation to sell various arms and supplies to entities approved by defense supply such as in this case the U.S. Navy. United States Defense Supply was a government formed corporation for the purpose of dispersing arms etc. Very desirable U.S. Navy revolver, with scarce N.Y.M.I. markings.
