Serial number 112260. Rare Marlin Model 1894 Musket .38-40 caliber. Comes with factory letter. Musket is marked on top of the receiver “Bureau County”. Only 152 muskets were made and half of those were sold to the Bureau County Illinois Prison. Bore is excellent. Action works perfectly. Barrel has approximately 90-93% blue. Receiver has approximately 50% blue. Stock has 90% plus original varnish. Rare Marlin Bureau County musket. One of these muskets was offered by a prominent East coast dealer approximately 20 years ago, for $27,000! Our musket is offered at $12,500.00.
