Springfield U.S. Model 1884 Trapdoor .45-70 caliber rifle. U.S. Military rifle. Metal has brown patina. Butt plate is S.C. marked. Most likely issued to the South Carolina National Guard. Bore is good with strong rifling and an area of minor pitting. Cartouche is dated 1886. Good overall condition.
