Scarce unaltered French Model 1890 Berthier 8mm Lebel (AL4225)

Scarce unaltered French Model 1890 Berthier 8mm Lebel cavalry carbine. Many of these carbines were arsenal upgrade by removing the cleaning rod and inserting wood to fill the gap. The upper barrel band were upgraded. It is hard to come by an unmodified 1890 carbine due to the arsenal upgrade done to these. Bore is good with strong rifling. Wood is good with nicks and dings, and there is a faint cartouche. Serial numbers are matching including the wood. Good-very good overall condition. A seldom seen French Berthier carbine. Made in 1892.
