British Brown Bess 3rd Model by Ramsay Sutherland. These were commissioned by the crown during the Napoleonic shortages and sent to North America to outfit the Brunswick Militia. Barrel length 39". This musket is a very fine example with raised grain in the stock. All markings are excellent. Barrel shows light stains but no pits. Replacement jaws. Altogether a very fine example of Brown Bess used in North America.
