LeMat Second Model Revolver. One of the iconic guns in antique gun collecting! This is a 9 shot .42 caliber pistol with an 18 gauge shotgun barrel underneath. The hammer had a pivoting striker that could be flipped down to use the shotgun. This gun was developed by Jean Alexander LeMat in New Orleans. He was in a partnership with Gen. P.T. Beauregard and this was one of the guns used by the confederacy. This example is in far better condition that you normally find these in. Excellent original blue remains mixed patina. This is a very sharp gun that did not see much use. Mechanics are excellent. Gun is all matching. This gun is in the top 10% of the least we have seen.
