U.S. 1842 Box Lock Navy pistol. By N.P. Ames, Springfield Massachusettes. Dated 1843 and marked USN on tail of the lock. Excellent markings on barrel. Stock is very good. Cartouches have been marked out. Action works perfectly. Very nice example of an Ames 1842.
