Smith & Wesson First model American U.S. Army Contract. U.S. On top of barrel. cylinder and frame and barrel have the proper 3 A’s and 3 P’s. Action works perfectly. Frame, barrel, and cylinder all match as does the barrel latch. Bore is good plus to very good. All markings are sharp. Grips fit perfectly but are later replacements and are correct S&W grips for an American. No cartouches visible. Only 1000 U.S. issued revolvers made. (Note: the rarity factor of the U.S. Smiths far exceeds the Single Action Colts.) This gun shows very honest use and no abuse. Rare U.S. revolver.
