Winchester 1873 44-40 caliber rifle (W9588)
Made in 1918. According to the Madis date book, he does not have a serial number that goes this high, but this gun comes with a Factory letter and it says it was shipped on March 19, 1918. This is a very late gun, within the last 1,000 guns ever made. It is in 44-40 and is Winchester proofed. The barrel has a very fine original blue rating at approximately 80%. The frame has no blue at all. Wood has been lightly refinished. Very nice late Winchester 1873!
