C. Slotterbeck Lakeport California Single Shot Percussion Target .50 caliber rifle. Beautiful rifle by Charles Slotterbeck, one of Henry Deringers expert gunsmiths in Philadelphia. He moved to Lakeport, California (125 miles northwest of Sacramento and opened his gunsmith shop at 185 Main street in 1872. Slotterbeck is a well-known name in both the Derringers and target rifles, also well known in the gun trade of the American West. This excellent rifle features a sighting tube which may be of Slotterbecks design, as he held patents for sighting tubes. This rifle has set triggers (adjustable). The barrel is marked “C.Slotterbeck, Lakeport”. The rifle is in excellent condition. Stock is excellent as is the checkering. Forend cap is silver. Very collectable target rifle by a master gunsmith!
