Slotter & Co. Double Key Plains .50 caliber (AL4424)

Slotter & Co. Double Key Plains .50 caliber rifle. Very neat well made gun! 33½” Barrel with .50 caliber bore. This gun has a double keyed barrel which is a premium feature on these plains style guns. The barrel has a mixture of original brown finish and brown patina. All edges are nice and sharp. The top of the barrel is marked “Slotter & Co Phila / Made for/ A.J. Plate / San Francisco”. Stock is very good, thought was most likely refinished long ago. This gun has a back action lock with the Slotter markings. The left hand side of the buttstock has a raised cheek piece, and the right side has a nicely engraved patchbox. Double set triggers. Everything about this gun is quality. These guns were popular with buffalo hunters and target shooters alike. Very neat plains rifle!
