Remington Rolling Block No.1 Sporting .50 (AL4341)

Remington Rolling Block No.1 Sporting .50 caliber rifle. Chambered in .50 caliber. These rifles were used throughout the West to hunt buffalo on the plains. Rifle has a 24” heavy octogen barrel with an even gray patina and adjustable trigger. Stock shows some hunting wear. Has a period field repair on the left side of the gun next to the receiver with two pins. Bore has strong rifling with some minor pitting.  Rifle comes with a set of three skinning knifes. 1st Knife is a Village of Watertown, Wisconsin. Blade length is 12” with an overall length of 17½”. 2nd Knife is a Russell Green River Works skinning / hunting knife. Grip is checkered rose wood. 3rd Knife is a “Dadley” style straight blade hunting knife with checkered rose wood grips. Blade has no maker mark. We believe it to be a Russell Green knife. This is a great excellent example of a sporting rifle and knives used by buffalo hunters!
