Evans Repeating .44 Evans Caliber Rifle. Old model manufactured 1874-76. Approximately 500 manufactured. 34 Shot magazine. 30” Barrel length. The old model had the wood stock on top of the magazine tube. Later models had wood on both top and bottom as a two piece arrangement. .44 Evans centerfire. Bore is excellent. Action works perfectly. This is the sporting rifle variation and approximately 300 were made of the total 500 old models. Barrel has approximately 93-95% original blue. The frame has approximately 85-90% original blue. External hammer is on the forward end of the loading lever. Unique design! If you collect Sharps, Spencers, or Springfield trapdoors converted to hunting or plains rifles this Evans should be a worthy addition to a collection!
