J Stevens 44 ½ .22 LR (R28447)

J Stevens 44 ½ .22 LR caliber rifle. Bore is excellent. Barrel length is 26”. Scope is a J. Stevens with cross hairs and optics are clear. Barrel has a folding. Beach front sight and an open buckhorn adjustable rear sight. There is a Lyman adjustable tang rear sight also. Butt plate is a brass Swiss style. Triggers are adjustable set triggers. Schnable forend is fitted with a folding palm rest. Barrel is half round and half octagon. The frame is marked 44½” when the forend is removed. Overall the rifle has a blue-brown patina. No pitting, no abuse. Stocks are good plus and have staining from excess oiling. The three-finger lever is case colored as is the fastener plate for the palm rest. Mechanically, gun works perfectly. In our opinion, neither the lever nor palm rest fastener was Stevens products. This rifle is fitted for a serious shooter!
