Factory Engraved Marlin 1889 Special Order Deluxe .44-40 (AL5203)

Factory Engraved Marlin 1889 Special Order Deluxe .44-40 caliber rifle. Made in 1892. Has a 28” barrel in .44-40 caliber. The barrel has approximately 80% original blue on the barrel. The frame is factory engraved with an elk on the left-hand side of the frame. There are traces of case colors on the lower tang, but mostly the frame is a sharp gray patina. The wood has a beautiful figure and is checkered on both the forearm and the pistol grip stock. Bore is excellent and is bright with strong rifling. Has a half magazine. Receiver has two extra holes for some kind of scope or sight. This gun comes with a factory letter. The letter confirms this is a Deluxe, but does not mention the engraving, barrel length or magazine length. Very fine factory engraved Marlin 1889 Special Order Deluxe rifle!
