Beautiful 1860 Staff & Field Presentation Sword (SW1390)

31” blade made by Horstmann of Philadelphia. This sword is in excellent condition. The blade is acid etched with a scroll pattern. It is nickeld plated with gilding in the etching. The blade has the name “Curtis Guild, Jr” The blade is in excellent condition. The hilt is relief cast gilded brass with a silver grip with brass wire wrapping. The inside of the folding guard has the presentation, “Presented to/ Brig. Gen. Curtis Guild Jr./ National Lancers/ 1^st Bat. Cav. / M.V.M./ January 5, 1896” Scabbard is excellent. It is nickel plated with almost all of the original nickel. Mounts are relief cast gilded brass. Very fine presentation sword!
