This German Army 9mm Corto (380ACP) Model 1934 is dated 1943. It was manufactured after the German Army took over the factory in 1943. The German Army Model 1934s are easily identified by their unique serial numbers which have either an AA or BB suffix. This very early gun is 0292AA. The 3 3/8" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The pistol has a two tone finish. The slide has approx. 98% bright blue and the frame is brown. The left side of the slide is marked P.BERETTA - CAL.9 CORTO - Mo1934 - BREVET over CARDONE V.T. 1943 XX. The right side of the slide and frame are stamped with the serial number, 0292AA. The right front of the trigger guard has an unreadable rectangular inspection stamp. There are no Waffenamts which is correct for this model. The metal lined hard rubber grips, with the PB logo at the bottom, are fine with no cracks or chips. The action functions correctly. This is a very scarce German Army issue WWII pistol. They are rarely offered to the collector community.
